Kids Tech Summer Camps
Minecraft is the epitome of creativity–limitless opportunity to build, discover, and problem-solve. In recent years, the game has gained traction as an educational tool, acknowledged by many as an important vehicle for engaging kids and teens in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields such as programming, video game design & development, level design, and more. Minecraft 101: Basic Computer skills are necessary ( powering on, mouse use, basic desktop navigation etc.) Minecraft 102: Knowledge of basic Minecraft or completion of Minecraft 101. Minecraft 103: Knowledge of intermediate Minecraft or completion of Minecraft 101/102. Students attending Minecraft camps will require their own Minecraft account for the computer. Learn To Code 101
Learn To Code is the basics of HTML and CSS (the basic building blocks for web sites) while having fun! Students today are not satisfied with what they see on the web, they always want to see if they can push the limits of creativity. This Tech Camp will intro students to the basics of coding skills so that they can make their own games. Students will not only learn to leverage code, but also how to create simple 2D artwork to enhance gameplay. Their final project will be something that they can be proud of, and share with friends and family. Basic Computer skills are necessary ( powering on, mouse use, basic desktop navigation etc.)
Learn To Code 102
This Learn To Code 102 Tech Camp is designed to build on the coding basics learned in Learn to Code 102. Students will continue to develop their code and logic skills by creating a 2D game that they can share with family and friends. Learn to Code 101 is recommended or some basic code experience.

Adobe Photoshop for Kids
Adobe Photoshop is a powerful image manipulation and photo editing program. Does you child want to learn how to manipulate photos and graphics? Are they interested in how to remove blemishes, tattoos and airbrush photos? Then this camp is for them. Students will be shown how to take a photo of a person and manipulate it using masks and filters to add and remove features from faces. Changing hair colours, and enhancing photos is always great fun. Basic Computer skills are necessary ( powering on, mouse use, basic desktop navigation etc.)
Student must bring their own digital camera or phone to take photos with.
Adobe Character Animation
Adobe Character is a simple program that will allow kids access to an already constructed animation file that they can change out the art for using Photoshop and Illustrator. Functions such as character art, walk cycles, dramatic movements as well as facial expressions can be recreated and added to your file in an instant! The result is an animation of your character art doing what the original character could. Students will go through Photoshop and Illustrator to recreate artwork for their character to animate! Basic computer skills are necessary for this camp.
Build Your Own Computer
The Raspberry Pi is a computer that was originally created to help solve the issue of a decline in the computing skills of children in the UK. It has since been re-purposed by an eager community of hackers and makers and can be found powering projects around the world, including commercial and industrial. In the past 5 years, more than 11 million have been sold world wide. This camp will be taught in small groups with two instructors from the Victoria Pi Makers Club. It is a great introduction course for kids who are interested in pursuing a Post Secondary Degree in Computer Science. Your child will get to take home their very own Raspberry Pi computer valued at $130.00.
