Q Academy’s Minecraft kid’s camps combine learning and gaming while adding in the social elements of being in a group environment. Through face to face interaction and some real-world building activities, your child will have tons of fun.

Minecraft is a sandbox construction game made up of two modes: Survival and Creative. Survival requires thought and preparation in order to prosper in a world brimming with dangers and challenges, while Creative mode gives players unlimited access to all in-game items to build and customize their 3-Dimensional environment.

Our Campers will be required to work as a team to build a thriving community within Survival Mode. In Creative Mode, they will learn basic architecture and geometry to improve their building ability and better grasp dimension and perspective. They will also get a glimpse into the creation of pixel art and how to use Minecraft as a form of digital painting.

This camp is for beginners and those already playing the game.

Minecraft is a block-building game with no set rules, where you can build anything you can possibly imagine.

In Minecraft 102, players build, explore, create, collaborate, and even survive within the game. Minecraft has created a new type of gaming environment so embrace your inner gamer. For veteran gamers, this camp will assist you in your survival and creative skills and you may also learn new strategies from creative mode.

This camp is for those campers that have already been playing Minecraft. Campers learn how to make modifications and use tools to expand their creative abilities.

Campers will dig into the source code to explore the fundamentals of the Java programming language and how it applies to Minecraft.  They will learn to create their own custom skins to wear and display for game play. They’ll learn how command codes are used to customize Creative Mode worlds.

This camp introduces Java programming in an accessible way that is sure to get your child excited about a future in coding.

This camp is for those campers that have already been playing Minecraft and/or have completed Minecraft 101 and 102.

Campers will be using some of the latest tools to learn basic coding skills. This program was designed for children and it teaches them the basics of programming as they create animated characters, video games, and interactive artwork.

Since computer programming is considered the new literacy, Q Academy wants to provide today’s youth with the great opportunity of getting a taste of the basics of programming. Your children will be learning as well as having fun, and while using the tools they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically.

This camp is for beginners.

This is the camp to take for those that want their creativity to run wild and create a video game that others want to play. Learn to Code 102 teaches campers how to build two-dimensional video games. This software provides an easy-to-use game-authoring environment that allows campers to create many types of computer games, screen savers, and other applications.

Campers will get started with a Space Shooter Game where they learn how to create moving backgrounds, add scores and lives, design instructions and titles, create waves of enemies, and transition screens. Later in the week, campers will learn more advanced skills to assist them in Learn to Code 103.

This camp is for beginners and students that completed Learn to Code 101.

Campers will be using a gaming software to recreate a short video game. The program is designed for children, and teaches them the basics of programing as they create animated stories, video games, and interactive artwork.

Using colorful programming blocks, campers drag and “drop” together the blocks to make a character a Sprite walk, play music, or interact with other sprites.

Since computer programming is considered the new literacy, young people now have an opportunity to put together multimedia programs without any previous programming knowledge. As children create with the program, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and have fun while learning.

This camp is for students that completed Learn to Code 101 and 102 or previous coding skills.

Adobe Photoshop is a powerful image manipulation and photo editing program. Does you child want to learn how to manipulate photos and graphics?  Are they interested in how to remove blemishes, tattoos and airbrush photos?  Then this camp is for them.

Students will be shown how to take a photo of a person and manipulate it using masks and filters to add and remove features from faces. Changing hair colours, and enhancing photos is always great fun. Basic Computer skills are necessary (powering on, mouse use, basic desktop navigation etc.)

Student must bring their own digital images in a usb drive or have access to their camera or phone to upload pictures with.

There are several programs that will allow kids access to an already constructed animation file that they can manipulate. Functions such as character art, walk cycles, dramatic movements, and facial expressions can be recreated and added to your file in an instant! The result is an animation of your character art doing what the original character could.

Students will go the steps to recreate artwork for their character to animate!

Basic computer skills are necessary for this camp.

Pow! Wow! Screech! Does your child live and breathe comic books?  Do you always find them reading their favorite Comic? Why not allow them to create their very own comic book, in our Comic Creation Camp!

They will have loads of fun creating their own comic using your favorites characters or their own characters to develop your comic book story.

Using computers, software, cameras, & imagination, kids will have tons of fun in this camp. At the end of the week, campers will be provided with a printed & digital copy of the comic book they created.

Basic computer skills are necessary for this camp.

Photography 101 is  our newest kids tech camp that will enhance your child’s passion for photography! Photography 101 will introduce campers to their cameras through hands-on training  and interactive sessions! In our tech camp, we cover creative and basic technical techniques that are engaging and meaninful for your child! Children will leave feeling confident about the newly developed a skills that we are sure they will carry with them forever!

Children are required to bring with their own camera or phone with camera. USB is also recommended.

Photography 102 is  one of our newest kids tech camp that will enhance your child’s passion for photography! Photography 102 will introduce campers to their cameras through hands-on training  and interactive sessions! In our tech camp, we cover creative and more advanced technical techniques that are engaging and meaninful for your child! Students will also be working with some of the latest indrustry standard software to make edits to their photographys. Children will leave feeling confident about the newly developed a skills that we are sure they will carry with them forever!

Photography 103 is  one of our newest kids tech camp that will enhance your child’s passion for photography! Photography 103 will be working with lights and other equipment that is used for the photoshoots! In this tech camp, children will be working together to learn how different equipment works for photoshoots. We will have lights, stands, Digitalmaster light meter , and few props. They will also be working with models and other items to see how the equipment changes the photography’s. Students will also be working with some of the latest indrustry standard software to make edits to their photographys. Children will leave feeling confident about the newly developed a skills that we are sure they will carry with them forever!

Children are required to bring with their own camera or phone with camera. USB is also recommended.

All camps are pending the minimum number of student to run.

Camps Schedule: Monday through Friday 9 am to 3 pm Student are given a 30 minute for lunch which is supervised.

• Before Camp care: 8:30-9 am $15.00 a day or weekly for $75.00
• After Camp care: 3 pm – 4:30 pm max $25 .00 or weekly for $125.00
